TROUBLESHOOTING FAQ
What should I do if my product arrives damaged?
Damage during transport is very rare. If you notice any visible or hidden damage, report it immediately to the carrier within seven days and to our customer support within 21 days of receiving the order.
What should I do if the door is not operating smoothly or at all?
- Check for Obstructions: Ensure there are no obstructions in the door’s path. Clean any dirt or debris from the rails and door area.
- Installation Check: Verify that the door has been installed correctly according to the manual. It should be mounted vertically and level.
- Battery and Solar Panel Check: Ensure the solar panel is clean and exposed to sufficient sunlight. Check if the batteries need replacing, even though they are solar-recharged, they may deplete in conditions of prolonged poor weather.
My door isn’t opening or closing automatically. What could be the issue?
- Light Sensor Adjustment: If installed inside or in a shaded area, the light sensor might not receive enough light to operate correctly. Adjust the placement or manually set the opening and closing times using the app.
- Battery Power: Check if the batteries are correctly installed and charged. Solar panels should be clear of obstructions and dirt to charge the batteries effectively.
- Reset the System: If you suspect a software glitch, reset the door to factory settings by holding the reset button for 15 seconds or power cycling the device.
What if the door stops operating in cold weather?
- Unfreeze Mechanism: Check if the door or mechanism is frozen. If so, gently thaw the affected components without applying direct heat.
- Battery Performance: Cold weather can affect battery performance. Ensure the batteries are in good condition and consider insulating the battery compartment if temperatures drop significantly below freezing.
The door is closing on my chickens, what should I do?
- Safety Mechanism Test: Test the anti-pinch safety feature by gently obstructing the door during closure. If it fails to stop, contact customer support.
- Adjust Sensitivity: If available, adjust the sensitivity settings of the safety mechanism through the app or control panel.
What steps should I take if the door remains closed in the morning?
- Manual Override: Use the manual override function to open the door if needed.
- Check Light Settings: Ensure the light sensor is not being triggered by artificial lights during the night, which could keep the door closed.
- Reprogram the Timer: If the timer has been set, ensure the programmed times align with your desired operation times.
How can I ensure my door operates efficiently for years?
- Regular Maintenance: Regularly clean the door and solar panel. Check mechanical parts for wear and ensure the battery contacts are clean and secure.
- Firmware Updates: Keep the door’s firmware updated through the app for optimal performance and new features.
- Professional Advice: If issues persist, consult the installation guide or contact RUN-CHICKEN customer support for professional advice and support.
